Round 1 of the Additional Restrictions Grant covered the period of the national lockdown between 5 November and 2 December 2020. Applications opened on 24 November and closed on 15 December.

Round 2 of the Additional Restrictions Grant is now open for micro and small businesses in Southwark that have been legally required to close (but are not business rates payers) or have been severely affected by the Tier 3 and Tier 4 restrictions in place over the 28-day period from 16 December 2020 to 13 January 2021.

If your business has been legally forced to close during Tier 3 or Tier 4, and you are registered as a business rates payer, you will be eligible for Local Restrictions Support Grant (closed) and will not be eligible for the Additional Restrictions Grant.

What is it?

The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) is a discretionary scheme and is targeted at businesses that:

  1. have been legally required to close due to local restrictions (but are not business rates payers/account holders); or
  2. may not be required to close but have been severely impacted by local restrictions

For those in the second category, we particularly welcome applications from businesses that supply the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors, as well as businesses in the events sector and market traders.
